Transformer capacity is set by the planned load, with headroom built in to avoid running the system at full capacity. Larger properties often need more than one transformer, each placed near the areas it serves to keep cable runs short. Does the fixture brand change what a system costs?

Fixture brand and grade can affect the cost of a lighting system, but they are only part of the total price. The number and type of fixtures, fixture material, transformer capacity, wire run length, and number of lighting zones also affect the cost. Each property has a different scope of work based on the homeowner’s needs and the layout of the property. For residential properties, a free on-site consultation provides the information needed to prepare an accurate estimate. Commercial properties begin with a paid lighting assessment.

Can I choose which brand goes on my property?

Yes, the brand for each position is selected during the lighting plan. If you have one in mind, we’ll use it wherever it fits or suggest a better option if it isn’t ideal.

Do the fixtures come with a manufacturer warranty?

Many available lighting fixtures carry a lifetime factory warranty, depending on the product and the maker. Every landscape lighting installation also includes a one-year workmanship warranty from Blue Hour Lighting. After the warranty year, an optional maintenance plan with two visits a year, typically spring and fall, is available.
