Blue Hour Lighting designs and installs low-voltage landscape lighting and outdoor sound systems for residential and commercial properties throughout Westchester County and the Hudson Valley. Founded in 2019, we handle lighting and sound work in-house and coordinate with landscape architects, landscape designers, and architects when a project calls for it. Each system is planned around the architecture, the landscape, and the way the property is used after dark. Lot sizes, terrain, and tree cover vary widely across the region, and our plans are built around that variation.

Westchester County, NY

Most of the installation needs no electrician, because the lighting operates at low voltage, approximately 12 volts beyond the transformer. Where a property needs a new exterior outlet or a switch wired in, that line-voltage work is part of what Blue Hour Lighting handles on the project.
Yes, outside lights can be a do-it-yourself project. Sizing transformers, selecting the right wire gauge, managing voltage drop, and properly sealing every splice are all skills that can be learned. We don’t recommend it for a full system, because the lighting plan behind it takes experience and training.
Every property requires a different scope of work based on what the owner wants and how the property is laid out. The estimate reflects how much of the property is being lit, how many fixtures and transformers the design needs, and how far the wire runs. Material grade, trenching conditions, and the number of independently controlled zones count as well. Homeowners start with a free on-site consultation from Blue Hour Lighting. During the consultation, the team reviews the areas to be lit, the fixture and transformer count, and the wire runs, gathering the information needed for an accurate estimate. A commercial property begins with a paid lighting assessment.
Every landscape lighting installation includes a one-year workmanship warranty from Blue Hour Lighting. Many available fixtures also carry a lifetime factory warranty, depending on the product and the maker.
